Actually, I didn't even grow up in a small town, but rather on a dairy farm in between two small towns in northeast Iowa: one with 600 people (at least that's what the welcome sign claimed), and the other with 2,000 people. WebAlthough there may be many apparent positive aspects to smaller towns, people often living in acquire what is called a 'small town mentality'. This can be described as a unified way of thinking and behaving. Individuality and diversity are suppressed while town's people begin to conform to traditionalistic views and stereotypes.
